Synthetics: The material of the upper includes a wide range of man-made fibres and laminates that are designed to overcome the limits of natural materials. The main advantages are low weight, high strength and fast drying ability. Modern synthetic materials are often developed with an emphasis on breathability and resistance to external influences such as moisture or mechanical damage. The main advantage of rubber soles is their excellent grip (traction) on different types of surfaces, which minimises the risk of slipping. The material is naturally flexible, waterproof and effectively absorbs shocks during walking. Depending on the compound, the rubber can be either soft for better contact with the ground or hard for maximum abrasion resistance on rough terrain.
