His idea met with success and in 1947 he teamed up with the British footwear company Griggs's to create the Dr. Martens brand. Since then, Dr. Martens shoes have become a symbol of courage, independence and originality. They have been worn by musicians, artists, rebels and workers. Dr. Martens shoes are known for their quality, comfort and durability. They have a distinctive design with eight holes, yellow stitching and an air sole.
