KEEN Zionic MID WP
Are you looking for ankle outdoor shoes for your child that can handle wet grass, puddles, and muddy paths to school? The KEEN Zionic MID WP in the color combination of Naval Academy/Evening Primrose combines reliable water protection with a playful appearance. Children can enjoy both outdoor adventures and everyday city life in them. The unisex design fits both girls and boys.
The upper combines durable leather with textile. Inside, there is a waterproof membrane KEEN.DRY that keeps feet dry even after stepping in a puddle. The mid-height design provides ankle support on uneven terrain, and the rubber outsole offers excellent grip on stones and wet surfaces. The quick-lacing system is especially appreciated by younger children, allowing them to tighten their shoes in one motion without the hassle of tying laces. Just pack a snack and a bottle, and you are ready for a full day of hiking. You can find more models for little adventurers among our children's sneakers and shoes. The American brand KEEN was founded in 2003 and gained fame with the hybrid sandal Newport. Today, it is primarily known for its durable outdoor footwear.
Materials
TechnologyQuick lacing systemQuick lacing systemThe Quicklace / Speed Lacing System is a technology that definitively eliminates the hassle of tying shoelaces and dealing with undone knots in the middle of the day. Instead of traditional laces, it uses thin yet incredibly strong cords (often made from Kevlar or polyester) with a sliding plastic lock (stopper). Simply pull, slide the slider, and you're done – the shoe tightens evenly around the entire foot in just one second. The excess cord can then be easily tucked away into the pocket on the tongue. This provides you with a clean techwear look and lightning-fast readiness to head out into the streets. / KEEN.DRY WaterproofKEEN.DRY WaterproofKEEN.DRY Waterproof is a patented membrane that transforms sneakers into an impenetrable shield against rain, snow, and morning dew. It operates on the principle of a microporous structure – water droplets from the outside are prevented from reaching your foot, while sweat molecules are easily vented out. The result is complete dryness and a fresh climate inside the shoe, whether you encounter an unexpected downpour in the city or are out on the trail.
UpperLeatherLeatherA traditional natural material obtained by processing animal skins, valued in the shoe and haberdashery industry for its inimitable combination of durability, breathability and aesthetics. Thanks to its unique fibrous structure, the leather is able to adapt perfectly to the anatomy of the human body, ensuring high user comfort. It is a "living" material that breathes naturally, absorbs moisture and acquires a characteristic patina over time. Depending on the processing method (smooth leather, suede, nubuck), it offers different degrees of resistance to external influences and different surface textures. / TextileTextileTextile uppers are a lightweight and highly breathable upper construction solution that uses woven or knitted structures of natural and synthetic fibres. This type of upper is valued in the footwear industry for its extraordinary ability to adapt to the shape of the foot, minimising the formation of blisters and ensuring high user comfort. Thanks to the porous structure of the material, textile uppers allow for efficient heat and moisture dissipation, which is crucial for maintaining an optimal microclimate even under increased physical stress. In addition, modern textile processing technologies allow reinforcement zones to be integrated directly into the knit, achieving an ideal balance between stability and flexibility. / Waterproof TechWaterproof TechRefers to a range of modern waterproof and breathable fabrics or membranes used in clothing and footwear. They protect against external moisture while allowing perspiration to escape, thereby maintaining a comfortable and dry microclimate during activity.
SoleRubberRubberIt is one of the most widely used materials for the production of soles due to its high mechanical resistance and durability. The main advantage of rubber soles is their excellent grip (traction) on different types of surfaces, which minimises the risk of slipping. The material is naturally flexible, waterproof and effectively absorbs shocks during walking. Depending on the compound, the rubber can be either soft for better contact with the ground or hard for maximum abrasion resistance on rough terrain.

FeatureWaterproofWaterproofThe water-repellent treatment is the ideal balance between the lightness of urban style and protection against changing weather conditions. This feature ensures that the material of the shoes or clothing can reliably withstand light rain, snowfall, and splashes from puddles without immediately soaking through. The construction utilizes densely woven fibers and protective layers that slow down the penetration of water while maintaining maximum flexibility and natural breathability. It is precisely the reliable safeguard for autumn and spring days in the city when you do not wish to deal with heavy outdoor gear, yet need to remain comfortable and dry. / NepromokavéNepromokavéWaterproofing is a key feature for those who refuse to be hindered by inclement weather and seek the assurance of complete dryness. Whether it is a jacket, trousers, or sneakers, this construction prevents even a single drop of water from entering, even during heavy downpours, walking through deep puddles, or in slushy snow. Thanks to impermeable membranes and sealed seams, it creates an impenetrable shield against the elements while allowing the material inside to breathe freely. You can rely on maximum comfort and peace of mind without worrying about damp socks or cold clothing.
