Asics Gel-1130
The Japanese brand Asics has evolved from the realm of running, and from its archive emerges the men's sneakers Asics Gel-1130, which you are more likely to wear on the sidewalk than on the track today. This model draws inspiration from running shoes of the first decade of the new millennium and returns with a distinctive retro silhouette that aligns perfectly with the current appreciation for sporty aesthetics. The color combination of Concrete/Evergreen exudes understated elegance while imparting a unique character to the sneakers.
The upper combines breathable mesh with synthetic overlays, ensuring the shoe maintains its shape while allowing for ventilation. Layered panels provide a dimensional look characteristic of running designs from that era. The GEL cushioning in the heel softens each step, making the Gel-1130 suitable for long days on your feet. The iconic Asics stripes on the sides lend a sporty line to the sneakers. They are particularly well-suited for the city: pair them with wide jeans, cargo pants, or a technical jacket, and they also shine alongside shorts and a simple t-shirt. Founded in 1949 in Kobe, Japan, by Kihačiro Onitsuka, the brand's name is derived from the Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano" – a sound mind in a sound body.

Running style from 2008 in a modern urban version - ASICS GEL-1130
Introduced in 2008, the ASICS GEL-1130 is based on the legendary GEL-1000 running line and is still one of the most stylish "tech runner" sneakers in the brand's lineup. Its design builds on the typical features of running shoes of the turn of the 2000s - layered upper, dynamic lines and a combination of technical materials. A GEL™ cushioned midsole in the heel provides soft impact and comfort for all-day wear, while EVA foam and GUIDANCE LINE™ promote a natural stride and stability. The breathable mesh upper with synthetic reinforcements offers lightweight durability and a distinctive retro-tech look. Rubber outsole with durable AHAR™ compound provides reliable traction on urban surfaces.
TheASICS GEL-1130 is ideal for lovers of the Y2K and 2000s running aesthetic, fans of technical streetwear, and those who want a lightweight and comfortable sneaker for everyday functioning. They're great for work, school, the city and leisure.
Team them with cargo pants, loose "parachute" pants or straight denim. Add an oversized sweatshirt or softshell jacket for a tech-runner vibe. For a minimalist look, opt for a basic T-shirt, neutral colours and simple silhouettes - the GEL-1130 enhances the outfit with a bold technical accent.

Asics is a brand that is based on the idea of "In a healthy body, a healthy spirit." Its name is an abbreviation of an old Latin saying. The first Asics shoes were made in 1949 by Japanese entrepreneur Kihachiro Onitsuka. His goal was to create quality shoes for athletes that would help them perform better. He used the Onitsuka Tiger logo on his shoes, which symbolized speed and strength. The logo became known worldwide when Olympic medalists like Abebe Bikila and Derek Clayton wore it.
Nowadays, Asics also offers streetwear shoes that feature great design and comfort. For example, the Asics Gel-Kayano 5 and Asics Gel-Kinsei models are popular for their stylish looks and Asics Gel cushioning technology, which uses gel insoles for better comfort and cushioning.
Asics also collaborated with designer Sean Wotherspoon on the Asics Gel-Lyte 3, which is an iconic model in the streetwear scene. You can find this model and many others at Queens in both men's and women's versions.
